1–162:

Largest national gathering of Head Start family engagement experts

163:

Behind-the-Scenes Tour of Lakeshore Learning Materials

Enjoy a special behind-the-scenes tour of Lakeshore Learning Materials! Lakeshore is thrilled to share the fascinating inner workings of their headquarters in Carson, CA.

Transportation to and from the convention center, light snacks and special prizes are included, and comfortable footwear is encouraged. Due to limited space, reservations are first-come, first-served. Reservations can be made while registering for the conference.

164:

Parent and Family Engagement Exhibit Hall

Kicking off Monday evening with the Grand Opening Reception, this year’s exhibit hall will feature vendors and consultants from all across the country. Check out the exhibit hall throughout the week for raffles, fun activities, learning sessions, swag, and more!

165:

Policy Council Dinner and Dance

Hosted by NHSA’s Board Parent Members, the dinner will offer a memorable evening with a unique theme — after our luau-theme last year, we’ll be having a “Havana Night” this year. Join us for this exciting event to celebrate the parents and policy council members in your program with food, drink, dance, and a special pinning ceremony.

Make sure to get your tickets soon as we expect this event to once again sell out!

166:

Rachel Giannini, Keynote Speaker and Head Start Alum

Rachel is a childhood specialist, an early childhood advocate, and a video blog host. We’re very excited to have Rachel join us to talk about her journey from preschool teacher to advocate and how she engages fun and creativity to make learning magical.

167:

Silent Disco Holiday Celebration

The conference will once again wrap up with a special holiday celebration on our last evening.

At the end of a long week of sessions, panels, workshops and networking, we’ll all gather together for a capstone Holiday party! Join us for this free-to-all event on our last night to unwind with food, music, dancing, and more. Bonus points if you bring an “ugly sweater.”

New this year: Hours of fun with multiple DJs and hundreds of headsets!

168:

Discounted Disneyland Tickets

In addition to a full week of engaging content and fun events, we’re especially excited to have the conference so close to Disneyland.

Make sure to get your discounted tickets for the weekend before or after the conference, or on Tuesday evening so you don’t miss exciting events taking place Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings! Contact parent@nhsa.org to learn how attendees can score discounted tickets.

169:

World-Famous Beaches

Having the conference in California in December means that we’ll be a short trip away from the world-famous Huntington, Newport, and Laguna Beaches. With an average high temperature of 68 degrees, what more can you ask for in December?

Bonus:

Fashion, Food, and Fun

Whether you’re looking to unwind after a long conference day with outlet shopping, delicious food, or family-friendly attractions, Anaheim has some of everything. Start planning today!
